Stephenson Avenue Extension, Western Australia

Phase 2 Stephenson Avenue Extension for Perth’s Mitchell Freeway

Reinforced Earth is a major contributor to Western Australia’s ongoing road transport infrastructure transformation, and our latest project – the Phase 2 Stephenson Avenue Extension at Mitchell Freeway in Perth’s northern suburbs – is a prime example of how we are helping to build safer, more efficient transport infrastructure in WA.

The Main Roads WA $165 million development will deliver a new connection from Cedric Street to Scarborough Beach Road to improve traffic flow, provide better connectivity, enhance safety and increase public transport capacity.

Reinforced Earth designed and manufactured various mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) walls for the road construction project, totalling more than 6700m2, including:

  • TerraTilt – rectangular, full height, precast concrete faced retaining wall system.
  • TerraPlus – square or rectangular, segmental, precast concrete faced retaining wall system.
  • TerraTrel wire wall – a lightweight solution using a durable steel wire mesh facing.

We also manufactured:

  • Precast Concrete Column Formers
  • Precast Concrete Trapezoid Underpass and Spandrel walls

The Phase 2 Stephenson Avenue Extension, located in the City of Stirling, is jointly-funded by the Australian Government and WA Government. We are delighted to support such an importance road infrastructure upgrade; helping to keep WA driving safely.
