The primary business of Reinforced Earth Pty Limited (trading as The Reinforced Earth Company or RECO) is the design and supply of proprietary, engineered construction systems to contractors, consultants, project managers and owners involved in civil engineering infrastructure developments in various market segments (Road, Rail, Mining, Energy, Industrial, Military, Marine and commercial) in Australia, New Zealand, SEAsia, Asia and the islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

RECO designs (directly or by sub contract), manufactures (directly or by sub contract) and supplies the various components (including precast concrete, fabricated steel components and associated fittings) of the construction systems used to build Reinforced Earth™ retaining walls and bridge abutments, vertical or near-vertical retaining walls, soil nailed structures, TechSpan® buried arch tunnels and or similar and or associated structures.

RECO’s engineers are professional civil, structural and geotechnical designers who specialise in designing these construction systems, their components. They use a wide variety of proprietary and commercially developed software and FE/FD programs to develop and verify their designs. They provide professional advice in relation to the design, construction, repair and maintenance of the infrastructure built with these construction systems.

RECO may provide advice and consultancy services as to constructability, construction techniques, procedures & practices. Such services may include guidance or hands on demonstrations.

RECO may provide “inspection services” during the construction of the infrastructure it designs and may also provide certification of construction and/or design compliance on occasions.

RECO may provide “supervision of construction” services, acting as a project manager or providing general supervision of the construction of that infrastructure designed by RECO as a contract or that part of a contract. These services may be provided either directly or by subcontract.

RECO is part of La Terre Armée Internationale (The Reinforced Earth Group), a world wide group of companies specialising in the design and supply of Reinforced Earth (mechanically stabilised earth or MSE) retaining walls and TechSpan® precast concrete buried arch structures. The Reinforced Earth Group is part of Soletanche Freyssinet which combines the expertise of RECO with Freyssinet (cable stay, prestressed concrete, structural engineering, repair and maintenance), Soletanche Bachy and Menard (foundation engineering and ground improvement) and Nuvia (nuclear technologies). Soletanche Freyssinet is part of the construction division of Vinci which also has concession (motorways, parking, airports), energy, transport infrastructure construction/maintenance and property divisions. Vinci is registered on the French stock exchange

RECO is able to access the considerable resources of Vinci through Soletanche Freyssinet to assist in the execution of its projects.
