An alliance between Transurban Group and Leighton Contractors to upgrade the existing Hills M2 Motorway has awarded Reinforced Earth Australia with the design and supply of approximately 14-18,000m² of Reinforced Earth™ -Terraplus® retaining walls.  This project incorporates the widening of existing sections of the roadway from two to three lanes and the addition of new access ramps. 

A challenge of this project is to ensure that the Reinforced Earth walls retain the same look as the existing walls that were built in the 1990’s by the then Austress Freyssinet, whilst also completing the project within a very short timeframe.  Manufacture of the concrete panels at our Tuggerah precast facility commenced in December 2010 and will continue for 15-18 months.  This is a major road project located in North West Sydney, Australia.
