The Reinforced Earth Company (RECO) was appointed to design and supply concrete culverts to replace the steel culverts at Piles and Leask creeks in Somersby, NSW. The embankment above the Piles Creek culvert had failed in June 2007, causing some fatalities. Due to the public interest in this project, there was an extremely tight schedule and durability was of paramount importance.
