The international contingent of Australian designed Reinforced Earth walls have doubled over the past decade. One major contributor to this growth is founded at Sepon, in the south east of Laos, which is home to three of Reinforced Earth’s TerraMet® earth retaining structures. With a technically uncomplicated design, it was the logistics of getting the materials to site that proved to be the greatest challenge. The steel TerraMet® panels were preferred over their concrete counterparts, as they are less costly to transport, easier to handle and require no heavy lifting equipment to erect. This was beneficial considering the remoteness and inaccessibility of the site. The Mine also required full time on-site supervision to ensure accurate construction of the wall.
